Valentine’s Day in our place is not about big gifts. We stay under $50, and typically $25, with the exception of buying a new cologne or perfume for each other (I’ll fill you in on my favorite pics — thanks to your feedback on Facebook — later this week). Whether you like to have that special someone buy you something pink or red, or you like the occasion to get something you’ve been lusting after but haven’t had the occasion, Valentine’s is certainly a fun excuse. At the end of the day though, be sure to keep in mind what this cupid-filled day is really about: a reminder to stop, exhale, look at someone you love (husband, boyfriend, partner, family or bestest girl friend in the whole wide world) and say… I love you.
